Contains autograph manuscript diaries of Sarah Bryant from 1795 to 1847 (lacks 1809) describing the weather and daily activities of her family. Also includes letters, 1786-1787, from Peter Bryant; a typed manuscript by Beatrice Jones based on Sarah Bryant's diaries; and photographs of Cummington scenes relating to the Bryant family.

Biographical Notes

Sarah Snell Bryant, of Cummington, Mass., was the mother of William Cullen Bryant. Her husband, Peter Bryant, was a physician and surgeon.
