Content Notes

Consists of two daybooks kept by Dr. Job Godfrey (1742-1813) recording the names of patients treated, drugs prescribed, and fees he charged between 1773 and 1810 in Taunton, Massachusetts. Also includes notes on personal accounting matters, such as the cost of school and boarding for his son. The second volume contains additional loose 19th century documents dating to 1869, including a plan of the farm of his grandson, Job M. Godfrey, in Lakeville, Massachusetts, and other maps and notes on mathematics.

Biographical Notes

Job Godfrey (1742-1813) was a physician practicing in Taunton, Massachusetts. He was also a soldier in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
