Contains a printed medical bill rendered to Thomas Doble by Dr. John Drury (1761-1823), in Marblehead, Massachusetts, on 18 December 1800, for care of the Doble family "while under the operation of the Small-Pox." The document is signed by Dr. John D. Treadwell (1768-1833).

Biographical Notes

John Drury (1761-1823) was a physician in Marblehead, Massachusetts. He also was the proprietor of stores in Marblehead and Providence, Rhode Island, that sold medical supplies, furniture, and books. John Dexter Treadwell (1768-1833), A.B., 1788, Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts, honorary M.D., Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, was a physician in Marblehead and Salem, Massachusetts. He was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
