Contains letters, personal papers, and estate records of Boston merchant Ebenezer Storer, dated 1761-1829. Included is a 1761 letter to his sister about the death of their father, and an 1802 letter to his children about religion. There is also a handwritten copy of Mr. Jones’ Catalogue featuring equipment like a telescope and helioscope, memorandum of the cost or value of Storer’s collection of scientific instruments in 1802 including a planetarium, cometarium, globes, magnifying glasses, and “an electrical machine,” and a list of apparatus to sell. Papers dated after his death in 1807 are primarily related to controversy surrounding his estate, as well as the Storer family’s history.
